General Information:
Under limited supervision, employee is responsible for the continuing evolution and maintenance of an effective continuum of care and service coordination for individuals experiencing mental health, substance abuse and co-occurring issues and crisis which includes coordination at commitment hearings, discharge planning for adults hospitalized using local inpatient purchase of service funds, and those in state hospitals, developing and monitoring Discharge Assistance Program plans and service provision and monitoring for those returning to the community adjudicated Not Guilty by Reason of Insanity and under a Conditional Release plan.  Employee is responsible for maintaining effective working relationships with the courts, judicial officers, hospital staff, and other agencies and individuals involved in the provision of intensive community services.  Employee is also responsible for the supervision and performance of duties required to provide Mandatory Outpatient Services, civil commitment hearing coverage, and other related Intensive Community Services program activities. Employee will provide counseling and crisis intervention services on as needed basis sand will serve as a licensed supervisor ‘on-call’ for Emergency Services for at least four weeks a year.  Employee must exercise tact and courtesy in contact with staff, individuals served families, the public, and service providers. 

Minimum Training and Experience:

Professional license as Licensed Clinical Psychologist (LCP), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the Commonwealth of Virginia or other license acceptable in the Commonwealth to qualify as a Certified Preadmission Screener/Pre-Screening Evaluator.  Certification as a Virginia Pre-screening Evaluator and 3 to 5 years of experience in the provision of community and/or hospital based behavioral health services.  Experience providing program administration, supervision and clinical supervision is preferred as is knowledge and experience developing and monitoring conditional release plans for NGRI acquittees.

Special Requirements:

PC skills required with aptitude to learn and use new computer software; familiarity with Microsoft Office preferred.  Must possess a valid Virginia Driver’s License with acceptable driving record.  Must obtain a TB test with satisfactory results within 30 days of employment. Must complete current Agency behavior management training (MANDT, TOVA, NVCI) within first year of employment. Must maintain all additional trainings and credentials as required by regulatory, licensing, and payer entities.  CPR/First Aid certification is recommended but not required.
