General Information:

Employee provides counseling/crisis intervention/case management services, as part of a system of family preservation and support services, to at-risk children, adolescents, and their families who may have more intensive outpatient counseling services. Children are identified and referred by the Department of Juvenile Justice. Services to include client identification, comprehensive needs assessment, planning, implementing and monitoring service plans, counseling, court reporting to include monthly progress reports to be submitted for court review and advocacy and resource development.

Provides crisis intervention counseling from the Eco-systemic Structural Family Therapy model to children, adults, and families for short-term intensive periods, or for longer-term, less intensive periods, as determined by the needs of the consumer and family.

Provides additional case management services, such as coordinating in-patient discharge planning, coordinating with juvenile detention centers and assisting clients in connecting to natural and professional resources for support to relieve/prevent crises as relates to family preservation and support services.


Minimum Training and Experience:

Masters degree and licensed eligible. Desired: Experience working with at-risk youth and their families. Experience providing crisis intervention or emergency services to at risk youth.

Special Requirements:

Must possess a valid Virginia Driver's License and acceptable driving record. Must obtain a TB test with satisfactory results within 30 days of employment and annually as required by licensing authority.
