General Information:

Incumbent is responsible for providing support to the psychiatrists and nurse practitioners in providing services to clients in the Warsaw and Gloucester clinics under supervision of the physician or nurse practitioner. Employee serves as a resource to other clinical staff regarding medication issues. Work involves maintaining and administering medications to clients, providing appropriate answers to medical questions or requests from clients, their families and staff in a timely manner, obtaining and recording biometric data and client histories, and case management services for selected clients. Employee must exercise tact and courtesy in contact with staff, clients, families, professionals, and the general public. Employee reports directly to the Medical Director or designee.

 

Requires managing a number of competing work priorities in a time-restricted environment. Works with a challenging population, often from diverse backgrounds with a variety of concomitant issues. Supports the implementation and maintenance of electronic medical records (EMR) and data collection. This position works closely with other staff at MPNN CSB using a team approach.

Minimum Training and Experience:

Four (4) years of school resulting in the completion of a Registered Nurse program is preferred. Two (2) years as an Registered Nurse. At least one year of clinical experience working with individuals who have been diagnosed with severe mental illness and comorbid general medical conditions. Knowledge and experience with Substance Abuse Treatment to include Medical Assisted Treatment preferred.


Special Requirements:

Must possess a valid Virginia Driver’s License.  Must obtain a TB test with satisfactory results by first day of employment and annually thereafter as required by licensing authority.
